We begin with a line taken from an interview conducted by Cleopatra. The backdrop is an interview of a gentleman named Kizito which featured on Zed Corner in 2015. In this interview Kizito makes known his gay sexual orientation. Commenting on the matter, one of the respondents says ‘homosexuality is abnormal…we do not even need to talk about it’. It would be fair to say that this is a position shared not by one, but by many Zambians. One just needs to look at commentaries whenever issues of homosexuality come up.

Empowering local farmers has been a longtime debate and fight in the farming sector, with one of the biggest out cries being local supply against foreign imports.

Zambia National Farmers union (ZNFU) president, Jervis Zimba, through a press release had announced that on the 26th of April, onion and potato value chain stakeholders that included traders, processors and producers during a protracted meeting at the ZNFU secretariat agreed that there shall be no more imports of onions or frozen onion related products as the country had more than enough stock.

Vedanta Resources Ltd has finally agreed to suspend legal action to reclaim KCM. This agreement comes pending talks to settle the dispute.KCM was placed under provisional liquidation after the previous government alleged that the company was evading tax obligations and giving false information regarding its expansion projects.

The case has been in the courts for a while preventing any possible investment opportunities from interested parties as well as stalling of any progressive undertakings to revive the state of the mines.

The Zambian Development Agency (ZDA), in collaboration with the Finnish government funded Accelerated Growth for Micro, Small and Medium Sized Enterprises in Zambia (AGS Programme), ABSA Bank Zambia PLC and the Federation des Enterprises du Congo (FEC) will on October 20, 2021, take 52 export ready Zambian businesses and exporters on a Trade Mission to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo), to help secure market access for their products.
